Reference version
This outline follows Pagat’s basic four-player partnership version, not every house rule.
Set up
Use 80 cards: four of each A, 10, K, Q and J per suit. Partners sit opposite; each player receives 20 cards.
A hand
Bid, choose trump, declare meld, then play tricks. Rank is A–10–K–Q–J. Follow suit and beat the current winner when required; without the led suit, play trump if possible. Identical cards favour the first played.
